San Yoga UK : Yoga Classes and Retreats as Medicine for Healing the Body, Mind and Spirit

Meet Sangeeta

Amidst the troubles of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, unpredictable circumstances led me to a career shift from a Scientist Director in pharmaceuticals developing new medicines for more than 20 years, to pursuing my long-term vision of becoming a yoga teacher. The ethics, values and practice of yoga had been pulling on me for many years and the time for change had come! My aim is to draw in the principles of research and development of new medicines from my scientific career and apply these in my yoga classes and retreats. Helping others along on this discovery journey of yoga as a medicine for preventing conditions like anxiety, back pain, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, dementia, and such brings me a deep sense of purpose.

“Yoga is not about having a super flexible, bendy body and a perfect pose. It is the medicine for self- discovery, development and transformation that heals the wounds of our hurried lives”

What My Clients Are Saying

Sangeeta, as I already said, you're one of the best Yoga teachers I ever had. I also loved the afternoon workshop sessions with artwork, dancing and cooking.  I liked the meditation part too, I am a person who needs much time for myself, reading my books etc. and you allowed time and space for this. Please let me know when you're planning your next retreat. I'll definitely be on board again.

Christine Gast (Germany)

I really enjoyed the retreat. I enjoyed the variety of activities (probably more than I expected to) and the great people in the group. It was very interesting and fun to be with a group of people from different backgrounds who had come together with a common purpose that wasn’t a bad thing as it meant we mixed completely and didn’t form cliques.

Brian Dent (UK)

I do yoga because I find it is an accessible form of exercise for me. I enjoy Sangeeta’s class and sort of fallen in love with it and want to come to it all the time. I find it not only a physical but also spiritual uplift for me

Lorraine Bristow (UK)

Sangeeta gave attention to all and made sure she gave additional instruction to those that wanted a challenge. Very descriptive to show what was required back up by visual demonstration. I would definitely recommend to all friends and family 🧘‍♀️👍

Neeshi Sharma

Thoroughly enjoyable classes that improved in fluidity and cohesion each week

Emily Polaris

Really loved my introduction to yoga. Looking forward to keeping it up ☺️

Liz Hill

I have done yoga before, but Sangeeta broke the moves down in far more detail which made it possible to check that we were doing them correctly. I think Sangeeta has the perfect personality for a yoga teacher, her calm and detailed method of teaching is brilliant

Sashi Sharma

Really enjoyed the level - felt totally relaxed to try despite lack of ability! and I could ask any questions.

Kerry Doherty

As a beginner I enjoyed learning how to do the moves properly. Sangeeta is knowledgeable in explaining the benefits of why breathing and the moves are so important. This I found very helpful.

Rupinder Samara

Well structured and great attention to doing the poses correctly

Tina Dhillon

Loved it, looking forward to progressing beyond beginners’ stage, would like to explore different flows as we have done, shoulder flow, core flow, love the warrior.

Julie Higgs

‘Hi Sangeeta, as I already said, you're one of the best Yoga teachers I ever had, therefore I have nothing to criticise on your lessons. I also loved the afternoon sessions with Alicia and Claudia with artwork, dancing and cooking.  I liked the meditation part too,  I am a person who needs much time for myself, reading my books etc. And you allowed time and space for this. Please let me know when you're planning you're next retreat. If I can arrange it with my duties back home, I'll definitely be on board again. See you soon and take care, love Christiane.’

Ayurveda: The Ancient Science of Holistic Healing

Perhaps it is do with my Indian heritage but for me, the ancient Indian wellness traditions of yoga and Ayurveda do encourage to take a pause, slow down a little, mindfully observe and check-in on ourselves.

Connection of Yoga, Chakras and Hormones

Let’s get curious about connection between activating the chakras through yoga and stimulating the main glands of the endocrine system.
