From Science to Yoga: A Journey to Wellness and Healing
Applying Science to Yoga
Amidst the troubles of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, unpredictable circumstances led me to a career shift from a Scientist Director in pharmaceuticals developing new medicines for more than 20 years, to pursuing my long-term vision of becoming a yoga teacher. The ethics, values and practice of yoga had been pulling on me for many years and the time for change had come! My aim is to draw in the principles of research, discovery and development of new medicines from my scientific career and apply these in my yoga classes and retreats such that my guests use their regular practice of yoga as a medicine for research, discovery and development for improved health whilst preventing conditions like anxiety, back pain, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, dementia and so on.

My Yoga Philosophy
My purpose is to build a community where we can explore, discover, and cultivate the regular practice of yoga as a powerful tool for enhancing mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Yoga now represents my Yin and Yang, or the ‘Ha’ and ‘Tha’ of Hatha yoga—the physical practice of postures. ‘Ha,’ meaning ‘sun,’ symbolizes the active energy in the body, while ‘Tha,’ meaning ‘moon,’ represents the receptive energy.
Hatha yoga embodies the balance I strive for between these complementary forces. Both my scientific background and yoga practice are rooted in values of ethics, curiosity, learning, and making a positive impact on health and wellness.

in a great way.”
